Local Lodge 1781 Vice President Larry Wing (L) and Lodge NWA retiree Al Ceniglio present a $5000 Machinist Non-Partisan League (MNPL) check to Jackie Spier (D). Ms. Spier was a candidate for the area's Congressional seat left vacant by the passing of much-admired Representative Tom Lantos. Just days after this photo, Jackie Spier won her seat in a landslide victory. Federal law prevents dues money being used for political purposes of this type but the IAM still feels it is important to advocate for our interests with MNPL funds collected voluntarily from thousands of members through payroll deductions.
